A Fun Fall Festival for Waynesville
Fall is upon us and the town of Waynesville is preparing for a very special event called ‘Fall for Waynesville’. Our small town sees lots of visitors and heavier traffic than usual this time of year, and we think that’s the perfect chance for us to show our new and returning guests what wonderful experiences our local businesses have to offer.
Our festival this year will be a little different as I’m sure you can imagine. Taking extra precautions is needed to keep everyone safe while we have fun as our community strives to keep things up and running during the COVID-19 pandemic. You can expect to see more outdoor seating at restaurants, and volunteers helping to keep things moving smoothly and encouraging social distancing.
So what festivities can you expect? Keep reading to find out.
From 10am-5pm on Saturday, October 10, Main Street in Waynesville will be converted to a pedestrian-only zone. No vehicles will have access to Main Street so that everyone can enjoy the festival safely. This year there will not be tents lining the streets, but instead you will find vendors safely distanced to keep all festival goers as safe as possible.
Our merchants here in downtown Waynesville will be sharing our newest arrivals with festival shoppers, and providing an excellent opportunity to kickstart holiday shopping. Make sure to drop by and say hello to our J. Gabriel family, where we’ll help you find the perfect gift for anyone deserving! Events like these are so beneficial for small and locally-owned businesses, as it gives us an opportunity to gain traction and show what we have to offer. Shopping local is great for our community and we can’t thank you enough for doing so!
Expect to see expanded outdoor seating for many restaurants on Main Street. As capacity isn't allowed up to 100% in North Carolina restaurants yet, expanding seating outside will provide a safer dining experience for both guests and staff. Plus, it just adds to the atmosphere and celebration of this fall season!
What fun would a festival be without some good entertainment? Get ready to hear some fantastic live music, see some incredible juggling acts, and other fun demonstrations! Enjoy making arts and crafts at our pumpkin painting areas to embrace the true spirit of Autumn.
We can hardly wait to celebrate fall the Waynesville way with our visitors and our community friends. Gear up with masks, hand sanitizer, remember to practice social distancing and come join us in all the fun! Come and Fall for Waynesville.
